I used channel. I tried a bunch of other option like the -a4, but that did not help either. Sometimes I can get Sage it to tune the channel and those other times it does nothing except like it seems that the stb box is not excepting what sage is giving it. Maybe I will go back to my HD-PVR cuz it is working really good for me and I don't have to worry about copy protection on some channels through firewire.

Think of the cable like a 2 way street, the signal coming in gives you the picture, the signal going out is for the guide, the OD and how the box connects to Cox to know what channels you get. If it can't connect to Cox to get that information, it keeps rebooting trying to activate.
But when you say "dark" do you mean the box won't power up at all? If so, thats more likly a power problem if it effected multiple boxes. If you just mean no picture, then can you describe how it reboots? This box, would start to reboot after watching about 30 min of tv.
