If you like it, you need do nothing. It is based on mileage with more leeway given to trains running longer distances. To use this standard, you must go down to Options, expand the On-Time Standards section and make that choice. On the maps themselves, there will be a notation underneath the right corner of the map to let you know which system is being used. Incidentally, Javascript is required to choose the new system. He asked if there was a way to incorporate that information into the maps.
So, for now, he's giving me the information, which I'll add into the status file for the particular train. The black background for the train number will have two pink horizontal bars. Click on the train to open the file and see what's "special" about the train. This will give more detail to these local trains, and will also depict the coordination of the Springfield shuttles with the main line trains. Finally, it will alleviate some crowding on the East and the Northeast maps.
They still exist on the Northwest map. Consequently, the Illinois trains have been removed from the West map. Addresses of the individual maps have necessarily changed.
Any of the options that you have selected will have to be reselected. The address of this page will not change. The addresses of the individual maps will. You'll still be able to find the individual maps by coming to this page first.
After the address change, you'll be able to bookmark the individual map pages again. This change is necessary in order to deliver the maps differently, in order to accomodate iPads and iPhones. Look closely at the small map of the United States. There is now a sliver running from Boston to Washington. This particular map contains all of the Northeast Regional and Acela Express trains. Javascript must be enabled in order to select and use the options, as well as the link in the previous sentence.
If you move the mouse over these symbols, a verbal description will appear. These schemes display the "overdue" trains in different ways. See the Color Legend. Amtrak changed the size of the file that they send back from a status query. I check the size of the file and since they were suddenly smaller than a threshold that I use, they were being flagged as errors.
I do this because when Amtrak refuses to answer a query, their response file is smaller than one where they actually give the information that I want. It's a method that I use to see if they are trying to shut me off. Anyway, they were providing the information okay, but because the files were a bit smaller, I thought there were problems. That effectively shut the system down. I was busy and didn't get to check and fix the problem until much later in the day.

Just need some time and maybe a little luck. Just noticed that over the past few days, both ASM and Dixieland have had a hard time tracking train when it leaves Albany. Thanks for the information, that was the assumption I had based on sketchy data from Amtraks track a train page these last few days.
Thanks so much for these resources by the way, they are incredibly well made! Just thought I'd mention that Hurricane Florence is making a beeline for us.
