Rear seats out, handles of and the side panels unscrew. Depending on if somebody has been there or not previously, there should be a damp membrane in place as well. Try giving them an email if you want, their details are on the website or their blog. Process: Removal Right Rear Ok, this was done without the manuals and still seamed to work fine. Left side bottom uncleaned. Outsides cleaned. A door hinge wrench is also a welcome addition. Install the door hinges on the door and make sure that the lower hinge is in the closed position; this will give you a straight shot at it on installation.

Before I mount the door to the Mustang I prep the rear door jambs and rocker panel with my panel gap gauge made out of pop-sickle sticks you can use paint sticks , this will set the initial gap as well as help protect the jambs and rocker from an impact with the door edges.

Once the door is mounted and the striker plate is adjusted so the rear of the door is aligned pretty well I move to fine tuning the door alignment. P: The gap between the top rear of the door and the quarter panel is to close, you need to widen the gap.

S: Make the adjustment at the top body side hinge, nudge it forward until you achieve the appropriate gap. S: Make the adjustment at the top door side hinge, pull the top front of the door outward and you will see the lower rear of the door drift inward. Do you have a trick to keeping the backing plate piece of steel with threaded holes the hinges mount to inside the kick panel lined up and against the body? I was thinking maybe a magnet? Your 65 Mustang has a scissor assemble attached to the window regulator, its held on there with a clip; detach the two to make remove of the two assemblies easier. Most likley you need to replace the window regulators and the window rollers.

For your latch; you will need to most likely remove it from the door to get a good look at the problem. Pull the door panel, then reach in an disconnect the latch rods coming from the lock and the inside door handle disconnect them at the latch.

Then remove the three screws on the door where the latch is and it should pop out. The door latch is also available new if you need a new one. JoeResto — April 12, PM. Chris, That lower door window stopper is a pain to install; try greasing the bracket that the bumper passes through, that should help. I have a 65 coupe and had started restoration on it. JoeResto — July 22, AM. Dan, I am not very familiar with the 69 quarter window but the rollers are most likely attached to the frame, so if they are broken or damaged you will most likely have to replace the quarter window frame.

I have a mustang 2 door. It has a small triangular glass window right behind the passenger door that was broken and needs to be replaced. Any advice or web site i can look at? Does the lower vent weather strip attach to the vent assembly, how? Is it sandwiched between the door and vent. Tim — October 15, PM. If the door window seems to be lined up correctly with the top section of the weatherstripping and with the wing window, that is probably the quarter window that needs to be adjusted. If the door glass looks like it isn't all the way up in the back and hits the quarter window, which appears to be lined up correctly, as if the door window was rotated a little bit in the counter-clockwise direction if you are outside the car facing the door, it could be that one of the rollers needs to be replaced, or, if all three rollers are ok, the door window glass needs to be removed from the track and re-glued in the right position.

It looks like I just needed to adjust the dog ear on the wing window. The passenger door window of my '65 hits my quarter window glass when closing the door. Is there any way to adjust that? That can be adjusted, but, how to do that will depend of which window is the problem. Is this something that the car just started doing, or has it been like that since you've had the car?

I just got the car last Saturday Congratulations on your new car. That shouldn't be a big deal at all. I would start by replacing the three little rollers on the door window regulator. That should help out a whole bunch. If that doesn't correct it entirely, I would adjust the stop on the rear quarter window downward a little bit so that the quarter window doesn't go up quite so far. At the end of its travel, the quarter window is mostly moving forward at the top.

Where can I get those pieces that limit the movement? Lost mine for the passenger door on my 66 Fastback.
